Sightseeing, day excursionsSightseeing, day excursions for culture and nature lovers Thanks to the central location, the village of San Lorenzo is the perfect starting point for exciting excursions. Museums:The Folklore Museum of Dietenheim: get to know how the people used to live around this area long time ago. In the open-air part of the museum is shown the traditional way of living of the South Tyrolean mountain farmers from the 15th to the 18th century. Excursions for culture lovers:Going past Bressanone and Chiusa, after 1 hour of driving, you will reach Bolzano, the capital town of South Tyrol. Bolzano is a town, which was and is strongly influenced by the Italian and German culture. Take a stroll through the arcades, watch the hustle and bustle on the fruit and vegetable market and visit the Archeological museum: on 1200 qm there are shown archaeological finds from the Stone Age up to the early Middle Ages. The most famous object is surely the man in ice, called “Ötzi”. To Venice: going past Cortina, Cadore Lago S. Croce, Treviso and Mestre, after 3,5 hours of driving, you will reach the magnificient lagoon city of Venice. World most famous buildings, like for example the Dogen Palace, the Rialto Bridge are awaiting you. Take a ride in one of the traditional gondolas and explore the many fantastic sights of Venice. Excursions for nature lovers:Valle Aurina: behind Campo Tures (20 minutes) begins the Valle Aurina, one of the most rural valleys of South Tyrol.
