Winter activities

The winter season lasts from the beginning of December to the middle of April

Plan de Corones (2.275 m) – 360° panoramic view, the mountain with 32 different ski lifts and 90 km of magnificient slopes.
Here you can practise all kind of winter sports, having available modern lifts and perfectly maintained slopes. Thanks to the new train of Plan de Corones (gondolas) and the enlarged and renewed valley station your skiing pleasure at the Plan de Corones got even better now. No more crowds at the parking lot or waiting lines at the lifts! To mention is also the well equipped ski hire at the valley station. The excellent service, the big offer of latest models, and the extensive programme for children with qualified staff guarantee happy kids and relaxed parents.

New: the Plan de Corones is getting more central. The plans to connect the Plan de Corones with Alta Badia become true.
With the construction of the new cabin car “Piculin” during the winter 2006/07 the connection to the ski centre of Alta Badia will come true. The ski resort on the south-west side of the Piz de Plaies with the valley station in Picolin will be 1500 meters long and overcome a difference in altitude of 500 meters. The layout offers a capacity of 2.400 passengers per hour.
In the area of the valley a modern centre with parking lots, information points, ski hire, ski depot and restaurants will be built. The black slope “Piculin” will be 2.000 meters long and overcome a difference in altitude of 500 meters. A bus system, running every 15 minutes, will connect Piculin with Alta Badia.

Croniworld for kids:

“Croni Express” – kiddie’s paradise: fun in Cronido for small kids or in Croniworld for bigger ones. Furthermore you will find a babysitting service with qualified nannies (10.00 – 16.00 o’clock), so that the parents will be able to do some skiing on their own.

Other winter activities outside the pistes include ski touring, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, tobogganing, sledge rides and many other fun activities.

Special service directly from our guest house

In the guest house Burgblick we also offer guided walks, and toboggan and ski tours to the most beautiful places in the Dolmites in collaboration with the Alpine School of Val Pusteria. Our guests will be collected directly at the guest house and brought back there again in the evening.
THE FREE SKI-BUS TAKES YOU EVERY DAY TO THE VALLEY STATION OF THE SKI RESORT OF PLAN DE CORONES, AND BACK TO OUR GUEST HOUSE IN THE EVENING.

Besides that you can join in (on arrangement with the local tourism association) to visit the most magnificient cross-country ski slopes nearby (twice a week Wednesday and Friday – costs: 8,00 Euro for one way, inclusive the access to the slopes as the guides).
